A few weeks ago I shared my thoughts on the drama surrounding NaNoWriMo and my intention to move away from associating with NaNoWriMo as an event. I felt I could no longer associate with NaNoWriMo. It just isn't the same event it was when I first participated.
With that said, I know there are a lot of you out there that love the idea of NaNoWriMo. You love settling down for the month and just punching those words out. It’s not always pretty, it’s definitely not neat and often full of filler words, but you’re writing a novel!
So, if you feel a bit disillusioned with the official NaNo organization and would like to find a new home for your novel writing activities, the Online Writing Log welcomes you with open arms. We’ll tackle that novel writing in November together with the November Novel Writing Month.
Yes, I know, it's not very novel (see what I did there?) and in fact, it's not intended to be. It's just the first thing that popped into my head that describes what we're trying to do in November.
What does this mean then for you, a user of the Online Writing Log?
An additional Challenge will be created for November called November Novel Writing Month. In fact, it’s already live. The goal is 50,000 words. So, if you’re looking for that familiar challenge, head on over to the Challenge by clicking the button below and then get ready to rock on November 1.
Or, if you prefer to stick together with just your friends, feel free to create your own private challenge just for you and your friends.
I hope to see you online!
Happy writing and good luck in November!
